Queenship of the Blessed Virgin Mary
After a relaxing summer break, we're ready for loads of new activities at Little Flower parish. First up: Donut Day on August 23 to commemorate the feast of Mary, Queen of Heaven.
Right after 11 a.m. Mass, parishioners headed into the auditorium for a bit of coffee, conversation and community-building. Watch for more Donut Days in the months to come.
September will bring a free seminar on funeral pre-planning (thanks to Speers), more photography sittings for our upcoming photo directory starting Sept. 11, and the Sacrament of Baptism for infants in the parish.
Please plan to join us!

Come, Follow Me
On June 27, 2015, Little Flower was once again blessed to host the Archdiocesan commissioning celebration for the Lay Ministry Formation program. Celebrant was Very Rev. James Owolagba.
Little Flower extends sincere congratulations to all who were commissioned this year:
Robin Adeney – St. Anne, Regina
Siony Dumaual – Holy Trinity, Regina
Brenda Dupmeier – Holy Trinity, Regina
Lorna Gillespie – Our Lady of Victories, Esterhazy
Brian Sipe – Our Lady of Assumption, Gravelbourg
As part of commissioning, each candidate is presented with a pendant bearing the logo of the Lay Ministry program.
The logo is circular in shape, a symbol of wholeness and oneness. In the centre is a picture of a fish, the symbol used by the early Church to represent the Christian, the one who was a follower of Jesus and had been baptized into the faith community. To help one remember that through Baptism he or she is called to share in the mission of Jesus, the representations on the outer part of the logo look like people with arms outstretched. These symbolize the outward thrust of those who minister to others, be it in the parish, the local community, hospital, school, workplace or family.
Little Flower parishioner Tom Kraemer is a Year II candidate in the Lay Ministry. We wish him a prayerful, fruitful and blessed final year. Can’t wait to celebrate with you in 2016, Tom!
